Being the oldest optics manufacturer in Austria, the K525i is the culmination of over a century's worth of experience, and technology advancement in the optics industry. With the combination of the optimal 5-25x magnification along with the large 56mm objective lens, the K525i exceeds expectations on every front.
Jumping right in, as you can expect the glass is incredibly clear and provides exceptional contrast no matter the magnification you are at. Speaking of the magnification, the broad range from 5x to 25x easily allows the user to scan wide fields of terrain and quickly zoom in once a target is spotted which is crucial in both tactical and hunting situations. Moreover, the reticle is precision illuminated in the first focal plane which allows for two things. First the subtensions remain accurate no matter what magnification you find yourself in and secondly the thin hairs of the reticle are illuminated allowing your eyes to clearly see them in low light conditions.
The K525i also features quite the ergonomic design allowing the user to operate all elements of the scope both quickly and intuitively no matter which hand you are dominant in. The key feature of this design is that the windage adjustment is ideally placed on either the left side for right-handed shooters and on the right side for left-hand shooters. Moreover, all key information is clearly shown on the turrets no matter which position you find yourself in, leaving you to fully concentrate on the task at hand.
One of the most impressive features of the K525i is that once the ballistic data is known, the precision dialing features of the elevation and windage turret make it a breeze to reach targets at any distance. In fact, we have had the privilege to both test out and sight in the K525i, reaching 1200 yards with no issues. Not only that, but both the windage and elevation turrets have exceptionally positive and audible clicks as well as featuring Kahles’s zero-stop functionality on the elevation turret. Additionally, being the tactical riflescope it is, the K525i was designed with glove use in mind and as such the large tactical turrets and power ring feature a tactile knurling to assist the user in making on the fly adjustments.
Being the oldest optics manufacturer in Austria, Kahles it at the forefront of developing new optics technologies and the new K525i reflects that with the patented Twist Guard windage feature. Essentially, the Twist Guard system is designed to aid shooters in fast-paced tactical/hunting situations in which the user must quickly change positions. The system features a free floating protection bezel on the right/outer side of the windage turret which provides a protective barrier between the windage turret and other objects such as branches and whatnot. This ensures the that the turret is not inadvertently knocked and adjusted as you frequently see with standard tactical turrets in dynamic shooting scenarios.
All in all, the K525i easily adapts to any situation whether it be long distance target shooting, hunting, or a tactical situation and gets the job done right.
