Rifle Review: Christensen Arms Mesa FFT - Flash Forged Technology!

As hunting outfitters and gunsmiths with decades of experience in outfitting our clients with accurate, reliable rifles for their adventures, the original Christensen Arms Mesa became one of our most recommended bolt-actions and the new Mesa FFT takes it to all new heights!

Now before reading on, I would advise checking out our in-depth review on the original Mesa, which details the performance, design and hunting aspect of the Mesa, as the rest of this review will be mainly focused on the difference between the two.

Now before getting into the FTT, it is important to note that at Somarriba, Inc., we have a long history of range testing and sighting in rifles and the Mesa is one of the most consistently accurate rifles we have ever displayed at our shop.

Christensen's new process of implementing carbon fiber in firearm technology is the hallmark of the new Mesa FFT (Flash Forged Technology). The main benefit of this manufacturing process is that it aids in eliminating all unnecessary internal weight in the carbon fiber. The result is so significant that the original Mesa's starting weight is 6.5 lbs whereas the Mesa FFT's starting weight is 5.5 lbs.

This makes the Mesa FFT the ideal candidate for backcountry or overall rigorous hunting. When making those long mountain treks, each pound makes all the difference in the world to one's endurance.

Now for all those concerned that this new process of reducing weight may result in a flimsier product, do not worry, the Mesa FFT exceeds strength and safety margins by Christensen's standards and our own. Topping it all off, it utilizes an ultralight contour stainless steel barrel with a Cerakote finish, “seamless” removable radial muzzle brake, and is backed by the Christensen Arms Sub-MOA Guarantee.
