Pistol Review: Nighthawk Custom's Fire Hawk - First in the Line of Compensated 1911's

Starting from scratch and using proprietary new manufacturing techniques, Nighthawk Custom set out to develop a streamlined, compensated and carry-ready 1911 for 2019.

Mark Stone, owner and CEO of Nighthawk Custom, says, "We set out to create a compensated pistol model, starting with the idea that we could use innovative engineering to build a 1911 that fit the profile of a standard Government model but would benefit from the effects of a compensator. We decided the traditional methods weren't enough and built the entire compensator system from scratch."

This cutting edge offering from Nighthawk Custom is the next advance in Nighthawk's long line of purpose-built 1911 pistols.

The single-port compensator on the Firehawk is paired with both a bull barrel and a full-length guide rode which adds weight to the front of the pistol, reducing muzzle rise while ensuring accuracy and precision.

The compensator blends into the contours of the cut-down slide using a French Border, providing a streamlined package that reduces recoil while fitting into any standard-length Government-size holster.
