Rifle Review: The Christensen Arms BA Tactical
Christensen Arms set out to design and offer a true tactical rifle platform that simply delivers at all levels of performance expectations and they did just that with the BA Tactical. The specific design and down-range performance will hold its own against rifles costing three times as much.
APPLICATIONS
The BA Tactical rifle is built for today's tactical rifle competitions and law enforcement applications.
It comes out-of-the-box ready with numerous tactical features that give it a significant advantage in the field or at the range, including a 20 MOA "Full Integral Picatinny Rail", a match grade trigger, a tactical mag release, and the list goes on.
THE DESIGN
Starting with the barrel, the BA Tactical is outfitted with 416R Stainless Steel barrel wrapped in aerograde carbon fiber, improving performance and accuracy. Christensen Arms goes the extra mile to outfit it with an adjustable stainless side baffle break which greatly reduces recoil.
The stainless steel action is coated with a black nitride finish which chemically hardens the steel, vastly increases durability and corrosion-resistance. Christensen Arms also provides a 20 MOA Picatinny Rail, making mounting a scope a breeze.
The BA Tactical is outfitted with a long range tactical stock made from a carbon fiber composite which features, "dual bedding pillars constructed from Invar, a nickel/iron alloy known for its uniquely low coefficient of thermal expansion. Unlike aluminum, Invar pillars do not expand or contract with temperature changes so you will not experience variances in bedding or accuracy." - Christensen Arms
The stock is also outfitted with a picatinny rail, allowing for further customization.
