Christensen Arms has built a highly distinguished reputation through their use of advanced materials and extremely accurate firearms. The most recent in their lineup is the Modern Precision Rifle (MPR). The MPR is a next-gen chassis rifle that is a pinnacle of long-range precision shooting.

The MPR is outfitted with every feature a precision shooter looks for. It's slim design and lightweight make is a very practical rifle in any situation.

PRECISION SHOOTING

At Somarriba, Inc., we advise and outfit shooters for all sorts of scenarios/situations spanning from low-level dove hunting to 400+ yards long range shooting. We can safely say, after extensive range-testing, that the MPR is an extremely accurate and consistent rifle, delivering the same amount of precision in every shot.

Our own Jose Somarriba Jr. tested the MPR in 6.5 Creedmoor and the results were exceptional. It delivered 1.8" groups at 200 yards and it did so persistently. We used for our test 6.5 Creedmoor. Whether it be long-range shooting or medium-range hunting it is key that you can rely on your firearm to deliver consistent results and the MPR does just that.

We can and do recommend, without a doubt, the MPR for any type of long/medium-range precision shooting.

This rifle comes in an assortment of caliber top accommodate any hunting situation including: 6.5 PRC, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, .300 Win, .300 Norma, and .338 Lapua.

RECOMMENDATIONS

After testing out the MPR, we recommend the Kahles K318i for mid-range shooting, meaning 600- yards. For long range shooting, 600+ yards, we recommend the K525i.

For the mounting system, we recommend Recknagel Tac Era Mounts. We have outfitted countless clients with these mounts and have achieved excellent results on every scope installation 30mm, 34mm, 36mm.

DESIGN

The MPR is packed with all sorts of features that increase overall performance in their own way, so let's take everything piece by piece.

Starting off with the barrel, it is made out of a 416R Stainless Steel which is renowned for its accuracy and it ability to create higher-definition rifling, crowns, and chambers during the machining process. It is then wrapped in an aerograde-level carbon fiber that increasing durability, precision, and most importantly decreases weight.

It also comes with all the standard Christensen Arms features including; hand lapping and a free floating barrel. The free floating allows the MPR to maintain accuracy no matter the temperature or other environmental factors. The barrel hand lapping also provides a variety of benefits including, improved geometrical and dimensional accuracy, improved surface finish, and much more.

Moving onto the action, the MPR receiver comes with a 20MOA Picatinny base making it compatible with a vast selection of mounts, however we do recommend Recknagel rings.

Both the action and the barrel are coated with a Black Nitride Finish which hardens the metal and increasing durability and corrosion-reliability.

The "over-sized" fluted bolt knob and skeletonized bolt handle is a neat feature that is very aesthetically appeasing and allows for good grip and quick reloading.

In any long range rifle, I always prefer to have a detachable magazine. In the hunting environment having backups and easy reloading is a very crucial factor that the MPR has taken care off. It comes with an AICS-Compatible detachable magazine and to top it all off, a tactical mag release. This makes for a perfect combination of convenient and quick reloading.

It comes incorporated with a match-grade, adjustable flat trigger that is absolutely phenomenal. There is not the slightest bit of take-up and it breaks very crisply. I was truly shocked when I first pulled the trigger on the MPR.

Onto what truly defines this firearm, the chassis. The chassis of the MPR combines aluminum and carbon fiber with full adaptability making it versatile and light weight. Adding to it's durability, it is also Black Hard Anodized. What this does is increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface which is extremely beneficial in regard to scratch resistance.

Another very practical feature is the folding stock. It is outfitted with a locking hinge made with Magnelock technology. In the hunting situation, this folding stock makes carrying it on a backpack a breeze and at a moments notice the MPR is ready to take the shot.

Here's an up-close look at all the features that have been mentioned:
